Abstract

Mandible fractures, which are the most frequent type of damage to the bones of the facial skeleton, are accompanied by functional disorders that are not completely eliminated even a year after the injury, despite the restoration of bone anatomy and consolidation of fragments. This, in turn, is a provoking factor in the development of a number of diseases of the maxillofacial region, for the prevention of which it is necessary to introduce medical rehabilitation programs, the systematization of which was the purpose of this work. The literature data for the last 20 years devoted to various methods of influencing certain links of the pathological process caused by trauma are analyzed. At the same time. a comprehensive rehabilitation program for patients with mandibular fractures based on a sufficient evidence base has not been developed, which requires continued research on this problem.

Key words:

fracture mandible, rehabilitation, mouth-opening limitation, functional disorders
