Protocol of integrated orthodontics-surgical treatment of gingival recession in children

Abstract

Complex diagnosis, early detection and timely removal of traumatic factors by orthodontic treatment helps to prevent the worsening of gum recession. The first signs of this pathology are manifested in a replaceable bite. Conducting computer tomography allows to reveal the peculiarities of the structure of the patient’s dentoalveolar system and to anticipate the risk zone. Patients with a subtle biotype of the gum fall into the risk zone. In the presence of recessions, such patients require surgical correction before and after orthodontic treatment.
