The interaction between the pulp and periodontium

Abstract

The article considers the phenomenon of functional and anatomical unity of pulp and periodontal tissues. The complex problems arising at presence of various sources of infection are covered. The characteristic features of combined manifestation and course of diseases of apical and marginal periodontitis are described. The historical review of the literature on this subject, the essence of modern concepts of diagnostics and treatment of endoperiolesion is given.
